UMA Banquet

Once a year Tim and I are invited to attend a banquet in Salt Lake City called Utah Manufacturers Banquet. We are served a wonderful meal, enjoy entertainment, conversations and at the end of the evening we are given a box full of goodies from people who manufacture things in the state. As you can see we get calculators, tape measurerers, cleaning supplies, paper supplies, treats and just other fun stuff. It is always a treat to come home and dig through the box to see what is inside. It is like an early Christmas gift. So much fun. Maybe some of the stuff should find its way into a Christmas Pie.

Tim and I finished the gift wrap center on Friday. We think it turned out well. It was fun doing it together. What do you think?

Sister's Party

Sister's Party, 2010
Sister's Party weekend began by going to the Twin Falls, Idaho LDS temple together. Only about half of us that got together could be there in time for the temple. After going to the temple,we drove to Kathie's home where we ate a great dinner of baked potatoes (potatoes grown in Kathie's garden), stroganoff, fruit salad, green salad, dinner rolls, dessert and enjoyed re-aquainting conversation. We sat up and talked for hours and then I remembered to get out my camera. By this time it was way after midnight. As you can tell by the picture of Misty (below) we were getting tired. Of course Misty is 6 month's pregnant and has every reason to be tired. We got to have 2 pregnant women with us. They were troopers to stay up and talk forever while fighting exhaustion. See, we don't look too bad for 2:00 a.m.

The next morning we made some crafts. We made something to take out with us visiting teaching in December...

When I got home this afternoon I got two surprises. Tim met me at the door (granted I had a granddaughter and daughter with me) and he made me a gift wrap center! Cool! I was totally surprised! What color(s) do I paint it?

Kailie's baptism

It was a big day for Tai and Mike's family! Today Kailie was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Congratulations Kailie!

After Kailie came up out of the water her dad picked her up and gave her a big hug. It was a sweet moment. Lana and Rylee were quick to give Kailie a hug after the confermation.

The Parson family from our ward came to share the day with us. Tai babysat the Parson triplets many years ago and now the two girls will babysit Tai's children. Thanks for coming Rachael, Marissa and Alex! Thanks to your dad and mom, too.

During dinner Kate and Danika didn't want to be bothered with the job of eating. They just wanted to play. So, of course we let them build a bond of friendship. Food came later.

Summer End 2010

My friend, Linda, and I just got done decorating t-shirts. We learned how to doll up t-shirts at Relief Society a week ago and thought we would give it a try. It took us a couple of hours to do it. I am sure someone else could make one quicker. It was fun!

My mother-in-law finally moved closer to us. She only lives 10 minutes away and is able to come visit more often. The grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her children love having her closer. Kate loved snuggling her one day.

Mr. Isaak can now do the winkie! So cute!

Last Sunday I got to teach the Relief Society lesson. For a visual aid I had Hayden pose for this picture to display.

Brielle posed with her grandfather on this picture. The picture goes with a story Elder Hales told last General Conference. It goes like this:

"Several years ago I was reading the newspaper when one of my young grandsons snuggled up to me. As I read, I was delighted to hear his sweet voice chattering in the background. Imagine my surprise when, a few moments later, he pushed himself between me and the paper. Taking my face in his hands and pressing his nose up to mine, he asked, "Grandpa! Are you in there?"

September 12 Jordan and Nikole hosted our monthly get-together. They fixed a wonderful meal. We loved hanging out, laughing, eating, playing, etc...

Darn it! I have the pictures in the wrong order. But this is Hayden the first day of pre-school. He couldn't wait to go! He ran ahead of everyone else. Hilary tried to take some pictures of his big adventure.

I thought Hayden was running to give me a hug and tell me he was excited to see me. That really wasn't the case. Love seeing all the excitement!

Brielle went to pre-school earlier this month also for the first time. She loves it, too! She paused for me to take a few pictures.

Ogden Temple before the update

I had to take a picture of the Ogden Temple before they close it down for a while and update the entire outside. It will be so beautiful when it is done...but, the temple as it is has a special place in my heart. Tim and I married in the twin temple to this one just a little over 33 years ago and now we live in the Ogden temple districe. I have spent a lot of time in this building and it has become very special to me. I will miss going to this temple while it is closed. I will just have to go to Bountiful, or Logan, or Salt Lake, or Jordan River, or...
Come go with me before it's temporary closure!
